It also helps relieve migraine symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, and sensitivity to light. Quick treatment helps you return to your normal routine. It may also decrease your need for other pain medications.

This belongs to the class of medications called triptans. This comes as a tablet for oral administration. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has already approved this medication.

How does Frovatriptan Succinate work?

Frovatriptan Succinate works by binding with some receptors on blood vessels in the brain. It narrows the blood vessels in the brainstem. It affects a certain natural substance or called serotonin. It may also affect certain nerves in the brain to relieve the pain. This drug works best if it is taken as soon as migraine symptoms occur.

What is the recommended dosage for Frovatriptan Succinate?

The recommended dosage is based on your medical condition and response. Don’t forget to take it at the same time every day. It is important to take it exactly as it is prescribed.

It is usually taken at the first sign of a migraine. It is to be taken by mouth as directed by your doctor. You may take each dose with or without food. It may work faster when it is taken on an empty stomach. Do not take it more than the prescribed dosage.

  • This drug is used to treat migraine headaches. This will only treat a headache that has already begun. It will not prevent headaches or lessen the number of attacks.
  • Tell your doctor if you have any current medications.
  • If you are a pregnant or breastfeeding woman, talk with your doctor first.
  • This is not recommended for use if you have ever had heart disease, blood circulation problems, coronary artery disease, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, severe liver disease, a heart attack or stroke, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or if your headache seems to be different from your usual migraine headaches.
  • If your condition does not improve, call your doctor right away.
