The Amlodipine component prevents the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle. The Olmesartan Medoxomilelement blocks the vasoconstrictor effects of angiotensin II. As a result, this controls and lowers your blood pressure.

How is Amlodipine-Olmesartan Medoxomil taken?

The recommended dosage for this medication will depend on your condition and response. Take this medication by mouth. For most people, the best time to take this is in the morning. This is usually taken once a day. You may take this either before or after a meal. Your blood pressure may start to decrease within 1 to 2 weeks of starting this medication. Take this at the same time each day or as directed by your doctor. To avoid complications, do not double the prescribed dose.
